Pirates and sexy women will soon roam the streets, if online activity is any indicator.

“Pirate costumes” was the leading costume-specific search, while Tinkerbell, Wonder Woman, Jack Sparrow and Playboy bunnies also ranked among the top five in the four weeks ending Oct. 21, according to Hitwise, an online intelligence and metrics service.

Microsoft Finally Reveals Plans for Upgrades to Vista

Microsoft officials have said they are on track for a release of Vista to volume license business customers in November, and to consumers in January 2007.

The new initiative, known as the Express Upgrade to Windows Vista and Microsoft Office Technology Guarantee program, will be in effect from October 26, 2006 to March 15, 2007 and will be managed in two different ways: by PC manufacturers where the operating system is preloaded, and by Microsoft from system builders.

 

Mozilla Firefox 2.0

On Tuesday, the Mozilla Foundation is expected to release the final version of Firefox 2.0. If you do not use Firefox currently then you need to download it and give it a run. For those that have never heard of Firefox or used it, it’s just another Internet Browser. But, has alot of features and things built into it that the other browsers don’t. Check them out at:

Replace the Treo I had with the Nokia E62. Very nice phone and major difference in price. Not that I am a phone expert, but besides not having a camera integrated into it the features are great.

XP Service Pack 3

Windows XP Service Pack 3 Pushed Back to 2008
Microsoft has pushed back the third official service pack for Windows XP to 2008. Whether or not this is an issue seems to be one for debate. Service Pack 3 for Windows XP was long-believed to be planned for mid- to late-2007 release. It was largely going to be a collection of cumulative fixes and patches, IE 7, and .Net 3.0, although its contents were still up in the air.
