Bit Busier Today

November 2nd, 2006

Today had to go to a house for a computer that supposedly just needed to have AOL removed from it. As most techs know typically when a customer says that is “all they need” it ends up they really need/want more.

So in todays case it was remove 3 different versions of AOL (the customer has DSL) and then after that figure why “control panel” would not even open up. After that removed a few virus’s and about 1,000 pieces of spyware with what I think is a great program Cleanup. Then it was a matter of teaching how to backup Quickbooks from a computer (everyone should own a Thumb Drive).

After that call it was a power outage at another location that ruined a NIC card in a computer. Pretty simple fix open case put in NIC. But, like every other job we do we can’t just do the NIC we then need to scan for issues and clean the computer up a bit afterwards. And for those that thing “well of course you do that is how you charge the customer more”…..Then answer is “Wrong”. We do it no matter what and our price is based on the job does not really matter what else we do.
